Watercolor...

I recently bought some watercolor paints, nothing fancy, just some cheap, but not kids', pan/cake watercolor paints. They're alright, but seeing as I haven't tried somewhat seriously painting with watercolor before, I figured that they would serve their purpose. And they do.

I started out with some not so serious paintings, mostly My Little Pony original characters based off people I know and myself, and a mermaid I had drawn. But then, by following a video on Youtube by 'Art ala Carte' I decided to try painting seriously-ish. I add the -ish because I wasn't horribly serious since I was mostly playing around with my new paints, but I digress. I followed her video for painting a forest with watercolors, having to make a few adjustments since my watercolor paper didn't seem to be very good quality and it couldn't handle as much water as she would use.

Anyways, below is the results of all my watercolor dabbling.

3rd one I did, the only serious-ish one.

This was the first one I did, thus it's not good.

I Love Dolls - part 1

I do love dolls, mostly Barbie and BJDs, but they're dolls. I haven't painted a Barbie yet, nor do I really want to, but I felt the need to share how much BJDs have been inspiring me lately. So here I am, after a month of a creative slump, with a new painting!

As any major BJD lover probably knows, this is based off of/inspired by Doll Chateau's Stacy 1/3 doll... No? Only I am obsessive enough to memorize what Stacy's eyes and factory faceup look like?
Yeah, basically, I only took inspiration from those two things (her eyes and makeup), and went a little crazy on everything else. (Not really, but...)

ALSO! This is the first painting that I signed the front of! Simply because I felt such pride in my work, that I wanted to brag!

And, to add most life to this post, here's every other BJD portrait that I did, even the bad ones!
